Abstract

Halliday , including many linguistic experts agree that the language domain consistency is a form of discourse flag become the convergence signs of determinants . The authors believe that this conclusion is too general , because the language domain situational context variation of the three variables (field , tenor and language type) and the formation of a wide variety of language variants . If the language domain is formed by the convergence flag determinants function tenor must play an important role , because any discourse around specific functions tenor ( ie communicative purpose or intent ) and expand , and to achieve this function tenor to organize discourse . This article explores the relationship between convergence and function of the tenor from the perspective of functional grammar . The authors suggest that the function of language is designed to play an important role in Textual Cohesion convergence of the choice of means by features tenor of discourse dominated . In order to prove the author's point of view , the paper is divided into four chapters . The first chapter reviews the theory of convergence and features tenor , to seek theory of basis points . The second chapter and the third chapter discusses the relationship of the non-structural convergence and structural convergence and functional tenor . The fourth chapter concluded .
