Abstract

Wood-plastic composite material is a new material has been widely applied to various fields of people's daily lives. However, because it is a flammable material, greatly limiting the range of applications of wood-plastic composite materials. It also highlights the importance of research on wood-plastic composite materials flame retardant. In this paper, intumescent flame retardants, inorganic flame retardants and bromine / antimony flame retardant system for polypropylene. Wood flour composite retardant. And different flame retardant system and flame retardant content of polypropylene - wood flour composite performance; studies have shown that when the intumescent flame APP charring agent proportion of 3:1, wood-plastic composites the best flame retardant properties. Added when 25% APP and PER wherein flame retardant compound, the oxygen index of the material can be achieved 29.5; the APP with CFA compounded when, add 25% of the flame retardant, the oxygen index of the material was 30.1. Vertical burning are FV-0 level. Add a small amount of artificial zeolite help to improve the flame retardant properties of the material. A tensile strength, flexural strength of composite material with flame retardant addition amount increased improved; impact strength dropped significantly. With the increase in the amount of flame retardant add, LOI and the vertical combustion level of material are improved. Intumescent flame retardant added to improve polypropylene - Wood Composite material reaches a temperature of the maximum rate of decomposition, reducing the decomposition rate of the wood powder in the composite material, and also increases the decomposition of the remaining amount of carbon residue. Inorganic flame retardants, Al (OH) 2 added 3 and Mg (OH) has some influence on the mechanical properties of the material. Mainly in: mechanical properties of the material, especially tensile strength and flexural strength has greatly improved the mechanical properties of the material with the flame retardant content increased slightly change, but little change; inorganic flame retardants added can significantly enhance the material LOI. However, the material droplet phenomenon obviously, the flame retardant properties of the material need to be further improved the PP - Wood initial decomposition temperature of the composite material: adding of the inorganic flame retardant can be improved, improving the thermal stability of the material. When polypropylene - wood flour composites decabromodiphenyl ether with antimony oxide added to a 3:1 ratio molar ratio, the addition amount is less than 15%, the tensile properties and flexural properties of the composite material will be improved. However, with the improvement of the flame retardant content, tensile and bending performance declined slightly. The addition of the flame retardant material impact properties substantially no impact; the LOI of the material and the level of vertical combustion with flame retardant increased with the increase of added amount, but the material in the combustion process will generate a lot of smoke and is accompanied by a small amount of the droplet . Fire Retardant on the thermal degradation of the material by a certain impact. Especially, can significantly reduce the thermal decomposition rate of the composite material 481 ℃.
