Abstract


Project variations occur frequently due to large scale、the inherent complexity、a surge of investment, a long duration, the variable price, diversity, comprehensiveness, risk and unpredictably dynamics of construction engineering.. The contractors can not forecast any such reasonable variation before to make a contract and the owner always have kinds of new decision during the execution of the Works. Still furthermore, the variations relate with investment、duration、quality and so on. It must be pointed out that taking into account of project variations during implementation is very important to ensure the project under control.This paper connects the theoretic analysis and practical experience. It illustrates project variations to have an effect on the project and the total contract price. Then it can see that project variations are closely related to the claims clearly.Lastly, Base on the comprehensive analysis of the difference between project variations and claims, then, According to a thorough knowledge of the issue, Make recommendations and proposals, analyze and provide solutions of control.
