Abstract


Special cultural and historical environment, Huizhou City, showing a very complex language situation, the widespread phenomenon of coexistence of multiple dialects. Huizhou dialect refers to the parts of a dialect popular in Huizhou city, of Huiyang City (county or city) and surrounding several counties (including Boro, Huidong and Longmen), the majority of residents lived for generations in Huizhou City the operation of the mother tongue. Although in recent decades the number of Huizhou dialect there is little attenuation, but declining trend in the proportion of the population in the Huizhou. This change Huizhou City becoming a complex city of immigrants, with the national common language - Mandarin in the promotion of the city, also Huizhou people surrounding dialect and assimilation related. Language attitude is a reflection of the social and psychological, is a variant of a language or language of feeling and evaluation. The language attitude reflects the social status of the language variants, as well as the stereotype associated with members of the community in people's minds. The paper uses sociolinguistic theory and method, change language pairs by means of experiments and survey the attitudes of local young people in Huizhou Huizhou dialect study. This article said local young people between the ages of the Huizhou dialect-speaking Huizhou dialect at least talking to family members of the young people in the 16-25 year-old. Huizhou fourth secondary schools and 68 high school students of the Huizhou University survey design variant dialect of Mandarin, Cantonese and Huizhou experimental with variable language pair method, combines the two perspectives of social status and affinity, and then use the supplemental questionnaire change language paired experiments, to visit the different variants of the use of situational factors. Finally, using the method of mathematical statistics SPSS (13.0) and Excel (2000) software for statistical analysis of all the data obtained. The survey found that, although Mandarin due to historical reasons and national mechanisms of power and become a top-level languages, Cantonese is the local high-level language, but Huizhou local young people think has the highest prestige status in Huizhou, not Mandarin, but Cantonese. Although the Huizhou dialects status value is lower, but more affinity. Evaluation of different gender variants of the three languages ??there are still some differences, such as more male subjects Huizhou dialect more really than men; valuation of the status of female subjects Putonghua and Cantonese subjects. But in general, gender differences are not very significant. The results show that the gender differences are narrowing due to the social status of men and women are becoming more equal, language attitudes. Level of education and childhood experiences change the comparison results of different education level subjects and the subjects of the evaluation of different childhood experiences difference is not obvious, this is mainly due to the Huizhou complex language environment, the vast majority of childhood You can contact the different dialects. Putonghua as the standard language of our country, help people in different places interact, should vigorously promote the popularization. Huizhou dialect the manifestation of Huizhou customs, reflecting the traditional culture of Huizhou, as the carrier of Chinese traditional culture, should go long-term survival.
