Abstract


“Shi”“Ling”“Rang”sentences are commonly used as Jian Yu sentences in modern Chinese. The syntax structure of“Shi”“Ling”“Rang”sentences are the same as“N1+V1+N2+V2”.Researchers of Chinese grammar have made a deep study on Jian Yu sentences and causative structures such as“Shi”and“Rang”sentences. And they have gained some fruits on the comparative study on“Shi”and“Rang”sentences. But there still isn’t any full and systematic comparative study on“Shi”“Ling”“Rang”sentences. In the perspective of teaching Chinese as a second language,“Shi”“Ling”“Rang”sentences are popular in the teaching Chinese material. But they are all simply illustrated and lack of detailed comparisons which easily causes foreign students’errors in their using.Based on former studies, this paper makes a systematic analysis on the differences among“Shi”“Ling”“Rang”sentences under the guidance of Cognitive Linguistics and Semantics from syntax, semantics and pragmatics. The conclusions and suggestions of teaching provided in this paper can offer some references for the teaching of Chinese as second language.
