Background and Objective:Metabolic syndrome (MS)has a lot of harm,Studies have shown that cerebrovascular disease morbidity has increased among the people with us.In recent years,with China’s social,economic development and lifestyle changes,the prevalence of MS is increasing year by year.With a higher prevalence of MS in the heathy crowd and it increases with age,Therefore, it is imperative to identify one or more simple and effective method,and treatments.In recent years, the relationship between cardiovascular disease and serum ferritin(SF)are concerned by people,The MS patients belong to high-risk groups of cardiovascular disease and diabetes,but few researches are conducted between metabolic syndrome and Serum ferritin.Therefore,we want to measure the SF level of MS patients,and to investigate the relationship between SF and MS. @Materials and Methods:To determine and compare the 60 cases of metabolic syndrome(MS)patients and 63 healthy controls serum ferritin(SF),body mass index(BMI),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting blood glucose(FPG),systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP),SF and BMI,TG, HDL-C,FPG,SBP,DBP and correlation analysis. @Results:The results suggest that metabolic syndrome(MS),serum ferritin(SF)levels increased, Concerning all the major components of MS.MS patients SF and FPG,BMI,SBP,DBP,TG,and other components of metabolic syndrome were significantly higher than the control,with statistical significance(P＜0.01).The control group protective factors HDL-C was significantly higher than that in the patients with MS.Our further analysis of SF and metabolic syndrome components correlation analysis showed that SF with BMI(r=0.48,p=0.02),DPB(r=0.68,p＜0.01), TG(r=0.59,P＜0.01)were positively correlated with systolic blood pressure without relevance,and HDL-C negative correlation(r=-0.62,p=0.01). @Conclusion:The correlation between metabolic syndrome and Serum ferritin suggests that may be a pathogenesis of MS.
