Purpose This research is to investigate the change of Visfatin level in patients with Metabolism syndrome , and its relation with the components of MS.Methods Based on standards of International Diabetes Federation in 2005, 74 MS patients were selected as MS group , and 20 healthy subjects as control group.After measured the heigth, weight and waist circumference, the fasting blood of MS group and control goup were collected and the fasting levels of Glucose, Insulin, Visfatin and were determined. The Visfatin was measured with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) . The HOMA-IR was calculated based on FBG and FINS with mesomeric state. Tissue insulin sensitivity was determined by hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp and calculate glucose metabolic rate (M) in 19 of MS group and 3 of healthy control goup. The statistical data were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 software.Results①In metabolism syndrome group Visfatin levels, HOMA-IR and various metabolism component (waist, BMI, FBG, FINS, TG, TC, LDL) significantly are higher than in those in the control group, HDL, and the M value are lower than those in the control group significantly.②Visfatin levels in each grouping (the BMI grouping, the FBG grouping, the TG grouping, the HDL grouping, the BP grouping) between various components has the significance difference.③There was positive correlation among Visfatin. BMI、Waist、FBG、FINS、HOMA-IR、TG、, but negatively correlation with HDL-C and Metabolice Value in these MS patients.④There was significant correlation among Visfatin and the components of Metabolic Syndrome. Waist and FINS are the main factors of plasma Visfatin levels.Conclusions①The levels of Visfatin in MS group is higher significantly than healthy control group.②In metabolism syndrome patient’s BMI elevates, FBG elevates, TG elevates, HDL reduces, BP elevates causes Visfatin levels usually horizontal significance to elevate, are the main factors of plasma Visfatin levels③There are significant correlation among Visfatin and the components of Metabolic Syndrome. Waist、FINS are the main factors of plasma Visfatin.
