Abstract

With the increasing socio-economic and cultural development as well as international exchanges, sports has become one of the topics that people are concerned about their daily lives. Sports News reported timely and vivid sporting events attract thousands of readers, and thus become part of the readers to read the type of news indispensable. Many newspapers opened sports feature pages, sports pages of some newspapers even accounting for a quarter of the newspapers as a whole. English sports news with its unique range of discourse, mode of discourse and discourse intention to become an independent genre. However, compared with other News Writing, linguists sports news did not give the appropriate attention to. Language and very few scholars have a comprehensive and systematic exposition of the stylistic features of the sports news. Literary Stylistics study aimed to explore the stylistic features of literary works within a particular historical period and aesthetic function study of stylistics is the various Context language variants in the human and social activities, such as news reports , public speaking, legal provisions and advertising language. Based on the theories of modern stylistics, comprehensive system of the stylistic features of English sports news stories from the different levels of linguistic analysis is particularly important.
