Abstract


In the background of economic globalization, frequent exchanges between China and the countries of the world, major cities of the bilingual signs in public places more and more, and become the country's foreign propaganda is an important part of. Therefore, can be seen everywhere public language translation errors and irregularities phenomenon has become the focus of the society need to be addressed one of the problems. Public language as a kind of applied strong social language, has its unique language features and application functions. In the process of chinese-english translation, the public language translation errors and irregularities of the phenomenon is mainly manifested in two aspects of language form errors and pragmatic failures. According to relevance theory, in the public language in the process of chinese-english translation, the translator should follow the "clear the original communicative intention, context of best choice - the use of translation strategies in choosing appropriate code" of the three steps. On this basis, the translator with words "optimal relevance" is the guiding principle, consider the public language of all sorts of application functions, according to the different situation to choose the appropriate translation principles: loan translation principles; Master the chinese-english cultural differences and realize to readers in the translation "optimal relevance"; Don't translation principles. Final effective avoid various mistakes and nonstandard phenomenon, give full play to the public language of all sorts of application functions, build a good international language environment, promote the communication and integration of the country and the world.
