Ocean internal waves is a common phenomenon of ocean fluctuations in ocean density stratification , the maximum amplitude in the ocean interior . Study of ocean internal waves is of great significance not only to understand the internal wave related phenomena , but also contribute to the understanding of internal waves in the ocean interior quality , momentum and energy exchange process , ocean mixing , the role of the environment and climate change , to deepen the internal the interaction between waves and other multi-scale oceanic waves ( for example : the understanding of the internal waves - surface waves , internal waves - streams , internal waves - vortex , etc.) . In addition, the study of ocean internal waves of ocean engineering and marine military also has important guiding significance . Approximated in a non-traditional (ie contains transfer , including the horizontal component of the geostrophic effect) under the conditions , the the density continuously stratified ocean internal waves WKB approximation solution WKB method . To test the validity of the WKB approximation solution , WKB solutions of the vertical speed mode and direct numerical calculation the results of a detailed comparison . The results showed that the floating frequency N (z) is a slowly varying function of the depth z , get WKB approximation solution and the numerical results consistent with good .
