Objective:To investigate the characteristics of diabetic lower extremity vascular disease and its related risk factors.Methods:1260 subjects with diabetes mellitus were enrolled. Based on the result of lower extremity vascular ultrasound, these subjects with different age and sex was evaluated to see whether the different in the lower extremity vascular disease. The subjects enrolled was divided into two groups, with lower extremity vascular disease and without.Logistic regression analysis was carried out to evaluate the measurements of body height, weight, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, 2-hour post-load plasma glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, glycosylated hemoglobin et al. The group with lower extremity vascular disease further divided into mild, moderate and severe groups. Analysis whether all the related risk factors have influence with the severity of lower extremity vascular disease.Results:Subjects older than 50 years old had a higher lower extremity vascular disease incidence rate than those younger than 50 years old,χ2 test showed statistical significance (P< 0.01).there was no statistical significance with different sex (P=0.443). Logistic regression revealed that diabetic duration, glycosylated hemoglobin, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein and systolic pressure had a close relationship with lower extremity vascular disease (P<0.05).Conclusion:Diabetic duration, glycosylated hemoglobin, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein and systolic pressure were independent risk factors of diabetic lower extremity vascular disease. The severity of lower extremity vascular disease might be related with Diabetic duration, glycosylated hemoglobin, low-density lipoprotein and systolic pressure.
