Abstract

Objective Hyperlipidemia has been proved to be harmful to human health. Many studies have demomstrated that hyperlipidemia is involved in the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease. Leptin and adiponectin have been shown to play more important roles in the development of hyperlipidemia. With the method of Ellisa, we measured the serum levels of leptin and adiponectin in patients with different types of hyperlipidemia. By understanding the relationship between Leptin, adiponectin and lipids metabolism, we aimed to provide new ideas in the prevention and treatment of artherosclerosis. Methods 540 cases were divided into two groups: 336 patients with hyperlipidemia and 204 cases in normal control. According to the Guide for Adult Dyslipidemia, all patients with hyperlipidemia were allocated into 4 subgroups: 1)Hypercholesterolemia group (80 cases); 2)Hypertriglyceridemia group (105 cases); 3)Mixed Hyperlipemia group (85 cases); 4)Low-high density lipoproteinemia group (66 cases). By means of automatic biochemical analyzer system, we detected the liver function, renal function, uric acid and fasting blood glucose in each group. Serum levels of leptin and adiponectin were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Correlation analysis was used for comparing leptin, adiponectin and other biochemical data in each group. Results 1)In control group, HDL level was higher in female than that in male (P <0.05); Comparing serum levels of leptin and adiponectin, there is no significant difference between men and women (P> 0.05). Along with the growth of the age, cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL , blood-fasting sugar and HDL levels increased gradually, but we can not observe the significant difference. 2)The Leptin concentration in hypertriglyceridemia group was lower than low-high density lipoproteinemia group (P <0.05); adiponectin level in hypercholesterolemia group was also lower than low-high density lipoproteinemia group (P <0.05). Adiponectin level in low-high density lipoproteinemia group was higher than that in normal control group (P <0.05). 3)Compared with the normal control group, transaminase, total protein and albumin levels of hyperlipidemia group were significantly higher (P <0.05); globulin level did not change obviously (P> 0.05). 4)Compared with the normal control group, urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid and fasting glucose of hyperlipidemia group increased significantly (P <0.05). 5)There was positive correlation between serum leptin and low-density lipoprotein in control group (r = 0.142 P = 0.043); There was also significant positive correlation between serum leptin and adiponectin in five groups (P <0.05).Conclusion 1) In control group, age and gender have certain effect on lipid levels, have no obvious effect on leptin and adiponectin. 2) In hyperlipemia group, There is difference between serum leptin and adiponectin. Compared with the normal control group, There is no obvious difference between serum leptin and adiponectin in hyperlipidemia group. 3) In hyperlipemia group, the glucose level have the inordinately increase, it reveal that the relationship glucose and lipid metabolism is close . 4) hyperlipidemia have inordinately damage to liver and kidney function, and can cause uric acid metabolic abnormalities. 5) Serum leptin was significantly associated with adiponectin, the interaction of leptin and adiponectin may jointly participate in the occurrence and development of hyperlipidemia.
