Abstract

Since the 20th century, cancer has become one of the diseases that threaten human health, in recent years, the incidence of cancer is rising. Around the world about 635 million new cases each year, is the second disease to the human toll. With the medical model by the simple biomedical model to biological - psychological - changes in the pattern of social medicine, mental health and quality of life of cancer patients increasingly attentions. The psychosocial oncology believes that the incidence of cancer development, prognosis and outcome are closely related to the psychological and social factors. Therefore concerned about the mental health of cancer patients and its influencing factors, the implementation of an effective means to improve their mental health is important. The purpose of this study is to: 1. Explore of cancer inpatients emotional characteristics and factors. 2. Explore effective and targeted psychological interventions to enhance the level of emotional health of cancer patients. Studies: the emotional characteristics of hospitalized cancer patients and its related factors research methods: in the province, a large top three hospitals randomly selected 71 hospitalized cancer patients a questionnaire, the application of non-psychiatric inpatient mental state evaluation (MSSNS), Self-Rating Depression questionnaire (SDS), the Medical Coping Style Questionnaire (MCMQ), needs assessment questionnaire (NEQ) patients - relatives of cancer-related exchanges assessment tools (patient) (CCAT-P) and other measurement in patients with emotional characteristics, coping style, the needs of patients and communicate with relatives. Statistical description of the emotional characteristics of patients described. Results: 1.47.8% of patients whose SDS score depression-standard; the cancer patients MSSNS depression, anxiety, loneliness score and general surgical patients with no significant differences, but their anger is significantly higher than the surgical patients; patients MSSNS factor scores descending score: loneliness, anxiety, depression and anger. Patients with depression, anxiety, anger, loneliness, and other negative emotions related to their gender, education level, place of residence, family income, duration of general characteristics, also with their information needs, psychological support needs to meet the situation, and their families around the disease communication, coping style. Experimental study II: exploratory cognitive intervention to enhance the level of mental health research methods: by understanding the root causes of psychological problems in patients with interviews with some patients develop a targeted intervention programs, printed into the manual intervention content. Conclusion: Nearly half of cancer patients to the diagnostic criteria for depression; anger of the cancer patients compared with the general medical and surgical patients significantly; patient's subjective the lonely feelings than depression, anxiety, anger and other emotions strongly; compared to care needs, mental emotional support needs and material needs information, the information needs of the patients, the relationship needs more significant; cancer mood disorders is influenced by patients' gender, education level, area of ??residence, family income, duration and other general social characteristics of the patients. Women, low education level, place of residence in remote, family income is low, an increased risk of patients with longer duration of illness mood disorders; 4 levels in patients with the information needs of the patient's mental health patients the psychological emotional support needs, family between members of the communication of the disease, coping style, and other factors related. Patient information needs are not being met, patients - the families of poor communication between yield coping style in patients with risk factors that increase the patient's emotional distress.
