Abstract


Nowadays, food security is regarded as an important area of public safety field. With the growing of international trade and frequent food safety incidents both domestic and international, safety of the import and export food of China is facing severe challenges. As for the inspection and quarantine departments, it is already a problem demanding prompt solution that how to take good inspections to guarantee the safety of China’s import and export food.This article makes brief introductions about current status and issues of China’s import and export food safety. It analyses the cause of the problems objectively, basing on public articles theory, market control loss and government interference theory and public treatment theory. Combining with his work experience and food safety management experiences learnt from developed countries, the authors proposes five measures to protect China’s import and export food safety. They are establishing a risk warning system, improving process control and filling gaps in supervision, innovating safety supervision model of import and export food, building a framework for the import and export food safety regulatory system, and strengthening communication, coordination and cooperation.
