Abstract


Foreign students dozen people from 1950 to 2009 , nearly 24 million people , these figures witnessed the opening to the outside world the great achievements of China's education . China has become an important destination countries for international student mobility , education for overseas students to enter a period of rapid development . Driven economic globalization , the international community is more and more urgent demand for personnel with a global vision . China's political stability, rapid economic development , and continuously improve the quality of higher education , to study in China environment is getting better . In this paper, Kalvero Oberg , culture shock , Sverre is also served Lysgaard U-shaped cross-cultural adaptation model as a theoretical basis , starting from the phenomenon of culture shock and overcome culture shock strategy through the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods , focusing on the following three issues were discussed : (1) students in China, Europe and the United States to the Culture Shock . (2) students in China, Europe and the United States to overcome the culture shock strategies and which strategy popular. ( 3 culture shock on English teaching according to the above three questions , the authors used questionnaires and interviews in two ways , European and American students studying in China conducted a survey of descriptive statistics such as the average from the questionnaire and interviews with the original data of the quantitative and qualitative analysis , to find the answers to the three research questions . ( 1 ) The majority of language students in China, Europe and the United States experienced a shock , mainly in terms of rate of speech ; learning shock , mainly in learning methods and teaching materials ; shock of life , mainly in terms of food, accommodation , and are not satisfied with the service ; psychological shock , mainly the alienated . (2) students in China, Europe and the United States to overcome the culture shock strategy : Language policy , mainly through language courses and communicate with the natives ; learning strategies, through classroom questions and answer questions , after-school reading ; daily life learning strategies , mainly through observation and cultural practices ; psychological strategy , mainly through interpersonal circle to gain recognition from family, friends , and teachers ; , daily life, learning strategies most popular. (3 ) the teaching of English to train students in cross-cultural knowledge and skills .
