Abstract


The metaphor is the people's daily life dialogue and writing a common language phenomenon, but also a way of thinking of the people , it is an important means for people to create a new language as well as knowledge and understanding of the world of cognitive tools . Research on metaphor has a long history , the earliest dating back to ancient Greece , Aristotle in his classic work \since then, after a long period of time , people will metaphor simply as a rhetorical device , the main role is to make the language more persuasive and poetic . Lakoff and Johnson from cognitive theory to explain the metaphor is more important in cognitive function study of metaphors have a new perspective , it also raised the attention and study of more disciplines metaphor . Animal metaphor , referring to the metaphor with animal images . Many scholars have studied animal metaphor . Animals play an important role in the production of human life and social development . Animal and human relations so close that people tend to communicate their views and emotions through animal images . Therefore, in human language , there are a large number of the animals concerned expression and metaphor . The animal metaphor enhance the language expressive and appealing , but also reflects people's perception of the world . Some scholars have made ??a comparative study of animal metaphors , but is primarily based on semantic theory and cognitive theory . Palmer will be part of the theory of anthropological linguistics and cognitive theory of organic combination of cultural linguistics . This paper attempts to make a comparative study of English and Chinese animal metaphors using the key point of cultural linguistics . Palmer cultural , cognitive and language constitute an indivisible whole . Animal metaphors in different aspects as a linguistic phenomenon , largely influenced by many cultural factors . This article will be English and Chinese Animal Metaphors a comparative study of two different reasons , trying to provide a new theoretical perspective on the study of animal metaphors and analysis from a cultural perspective . In this paper, a wealth of examples to illustrate the impact of cultural factors on animal metaphors , relevant aspects of animal metaphors study some help and inspiration .
