Abstract

Herman Melville (1819-1891) is one of the most important writers in the history of American literature, because of their ideology beyond the era in which he was, from the American Civil War to the end of the First World War, Melville almost completely forgotten. Today, he has become one of the United States is widely read writer often discuss, and respect for people. Although Melville's work reached its peak in the 1840s to the 1950s, but his work with Modernism.
