Abstract

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an important wide band gap (Eg=3.37 eV)Ⅱ—Ⅵgroup semiconductor material which can be widely used in photoelectric field. In this thesis we synthesized one dimensional ZnO nanosturctures by a simple aqueous chemical growth (ACG) method. Well-aligned and orienting hexagonal wurtzite ZnO nanorods arrays were prepared by epitaxial growth method on microscopic glass covered with inoculating crystal layer. The influences of different prepared parameters on the surface morphology of ZnO film were studied. Besides that, the growth mechanism, piezoelectricity property, I-V property and wettability of ZnO nanorod arrays were also investigated. The details are listed below:Investigation into ZnO reaction time, growth temperature, inoculating crystal layer and methanamide concentration indicated these parameters were crucial for growth of well-aligned ZnO nanorods array. Surface morphology, Crystal structure and chemical composition of ZnO films were characterized by SEM, XRD, TEM and HRTEM. The results indicate that with the increase of growth time and methanamide concentration(low than 10%) the diameter of nanorods increased linear; length of nanorods were increased with prolong growth temperature; well-aligned ZnO nanorods array depended on the inoculating crystal layer which covered with ZnO. Growth mechanism of well-aligned ZnO nanorods array that the growth of ZnO nanorods were based on the seeds of inoculating crystal layer was confirmed. .According to this, we got the best prepared parameters for ZnO nanorod arrays. The piezoelectricity and I-V properties of ZnO nanorod arrays with different length were investigated by atomic force microscope(AFM) tip in contact mode. The results show that Piezo response signal can be stronger with length of ZnO nanorods increased. The I-V pattern of single ZnO nanorod showed rectification characteristic. The piezoelectricity principles of ZnO nanorods were also studied. The wettability of ZnO films with different surface morphology were investigated by contact angle apparatus. The results indicate that the contact angle on the surface of ZnO film can be changed by the change of surface morphology. The wrapping angle of 154.6°was achieved on the surface of small diameter nanorods. The apparent wrapping angleθ_r~C=154.3°was calculated according to Cassie-Baxter modle and correspond well with the experimental value.
