In this paper, with the1750mm hot-strip walking beam furnace in Tianjin Iron Metallurgy Group Co., Ltd as the object of study, three-dimensional zone mathematic model can be established based upon energy balance of furnace gas, furnace wall and slab. Using simple iterative method to solve the dynamic energy balance equations, the temperature field can be obtained in the regenerative reheating furnace. The temperature field of furnace wall and slab can be solved by element balance method and finite difference method considering furnace gas as a coupled boundary condition.The effects of thermo-technical parameters and operation parameters which include cold-charging and hot-charging, calorific value of fuel, regenerative temperature, coefficient of air consumption, the fuel distribution along width and heigth direction of regenerative reheating furnace, and the switching mode on thermal process of regenerative reheating furnace can be analyzed detailedly in this paper. Simulation results indicate that specific fuel consumption can be reduced by enhancing the temperature of slab entering the furnace, calorific value of fuel or regenerative temperature when the output remains the same, and when the fuel supplies remain the same, the productivity of regenerative reheating furnace can be raised by enhancing the temperature of slab entering the furnace, calorific value of fuel or regenerative temperature, and that on the foundation of perfect combustion of fuel, furnace gas temperature and slab temperature can be raised by increasing coefficient of air consumption, and that the fuel distribution has a significant impact on furnace gas temperature and slab temperature along width and heigth direction of regenerative reheating furnace, and that switching mode has a little effect on furnace gas temperature and slab temperature.
