Abstract


Salt is a sort of commodity with the minimal flexible need, In A.D.758,Tangdynasty conduct monopoly to salt after The An Lushan Rebellion, the Salt incomeoccupies important position of the Budgetary income in middle of the Later TangDynasty and Five Dynasties, closely linked with life of the common people. Saltprice is the link including the government, salt dealer, common people. The change ofthe salt price has an important effect on the government budgetary income and the lifeof common people. It shows a different salt price in the process of production,transportation and retail. In the process of the formation of salt price is controlled by thecosts, the government regulation and the markup of the salt dealer. Salt price alterationhad a significant effect to the nation’s finance and people’s livelihood, expensive priceand price alteration also had a gigantic impact on the society, and brought about thephenomenon such as salt dealer. Throught the study of the salt price in the late Tangdynasty till the Five Dynasties, we can get a lot of new knowledge.
