The new curriculum standard points out clearly:“Reading is an important way of information collection and processing, knowing the world, developing thinking and getting the aesthetic experience.”“Reading is a multiple conversation among students, teachers, editors and reading materials.It’s a dynamic process of collision of thought and the mind exchange”,“students’reading is individual behavior, which can’t be replaced by teachers’reading.”So obviously, the reading teaching is the important part of Chinese teaching in middle school. And it’s a main approach for students to develop their abilities.This paper explains the present situation of Chinese teaching of junior and senior middle schools since the implementation of new curriculum standard. It also analyses the reason for the incongruous reading teaching between junior and senior schools, which mainly lies in the difference of teachers, teaching materials, teaching methods, and the different requirements.Finally it points out the strategies, if you want to join the junior reading teaching and senior middle school’s better. High school teachers should strengthen the study of the two curriculum standards, and the two teaching materials. Besides, they should be artfully combined in the teaching procedure. High school teachers should pay special attention to mastering the learning situation, mining materials, knowing the different requirements between their reading ability and reading teaching connection. High school teachers should also do a good job of supplement of Chinese language grammar to strength students’classical Chinese reading ability .
