Abstract


The research comes from a horizontal issue–The Establishing of Wuling CarStyling Features Database, and it emphasizes on the capture and representations of thefeatures and semantic, the mapping of the features and semantic, and finally theestablishing of the car styling features base on the mapping of the features andsemantic.Car styling problem is absolutely not a simple appearance problem, but a brandownership of deep-seated. Car styling features database means a lot to the brandcontinue of car styling and brand identity of auto companies. The car stylingdevelopment based on features database is helpful to strengthen the corporate brandimage, styling features and styling semantic is most important elements of brandimage.Research concentrates on the mapping of features and semantic, discuss the carstyling from the view of brand combined features and semantic. In this thesis featuresand semantic were layered into low-level features, high-level features, and low-levelsemantic, high-level semantic. This thesis researches the mapping between low-levelfeatures and low-level semantics in the way of metaphor, discussed the mappingbetween high-level features and high-level semantics from the view of scenario, andestablished the mapping between features and semantics. Based on the mapping, thisthesis established the Wuling Car Styling Features Database, which consisted of threeparts “3+X+N” according to the contribution and importance of the brand.“3” is CoreFeatures,“X” is Brand Features, and “N” is Product Features. At last, the thesisproposed the guidelines of using Wuling Car Styling Features Database in the processof car styling development.
