The conceptual design of car body is an important part of the whole design process, which has always been a hot research problem for the enterprises and the scholars. For the conceptual design knowledge’s diversity, complexity and fuzzy uncertainty, from the perspective of knowledge management and knowledge reuse, this paper mainly research on some key points: knowledge modeling, based on case reasoning technology, case retrieval technology, and then constructing the prototype system of knowledge management.First of all, this paper based on the characteristics of conceptual design knowledge, constructing the model of car body conceptual design ontology, on the basis of which proposed the ontology modeling theory. Secondly, focusing on the process of knowledge reuse of conceptual design, this paper introduces CBR technology and system development technology, and then designed the overall system and architecture. Thirdly, using the theory of database, this paper designed the data source of this knowledge management system. This source is composed of model base and case base, and these two are divided into two levels, and also include two different forms, which is composed of three-level frame structure. What’s more, this paper still discussed the case retrieval technology, and made the CBR as its implementation behavior, applying the fuzzy set-based retrieve algorithm, based on which all, achieving the target of knowledge reuse. Finally, this paper completed several important modules, through which displayed how the system works.
