Abstract


The rapid development of computer network information technology help people knock on the door of information society and lead us into fields of politics, economy and culture. In the field of information society, Digitization and network informationization not only change people’s organization form, propagation direction and reading mode, but also provide a new platform of design creation and multidimensional propagation. User interface is seen as the most direct and effective bridge between product and user, among which the interface icon is the most intuitive, vivid, convenient and effecient carrier of transmission and communication of information. This media which shows vivid digital feature, has become an interactive window of life style and emotional expression for modern.Facing these new problems and variations of this new media and design patterns, this paper tries to analyze the icon’s symbolic feature, functional character and action on the basis of semiology. The cognition character, cognition friction of icon are mainly analyzed by the use of cognitive psychology, this paper also puts forward principles and significance of the visual-friendly design and makes a profound analysis on them from the three aspects, including vision design, information design and interaction design. By using the methods of usability engineering and user experience testing, combining with icon case study, the usability test on icon’cognition and style are carried out. Finally, a highly perceptive analysis of the aesthetic trend and future development tendency about icon is carried out. The investigation in this paper will help us to get more scientific in icon design, improve visual-friendly and availability of icon, and offer theoretical guidance and evaluation standard for practical applications. In addition, it helps to create favorable conditions for memory, learning and use of icon, and also provides effective support for subsequent research and design.
