Water-based adhesive for table tennis racket was prepared with methyl methacry-late(MMA), butyl acrylate (BA), vinyl acetate(VAc)as monomers, sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and polyoxyethylene nonyl phenyl ether(OP-10) as emulsifier, potassium persulphate(KPS) as initiator, by semi-continuous core-shell emulsion polymerization. Effect of emulsifier, initiator and reaction temperature on the stability, conversion rate, particle size of emulsion was researched and characterized by TEM, particle size analyzer and so on. The results showed that:amount of emulsifier accounted for 3.0% of the system, mass ratio of SDS and OP-10 was 1:3, amount of initiator was 0.5% of the total mass of monomer, mass ratio of monomer I and II was 3:7, reaction time was 2.Oh, reaction temperature was 80～85℃, adhesive emulsion had good stability, the average diameterof latex particles was about 150nm. and conversion rate of monomer was over 96%.Water-based adhesive was formed film. Effect of reaction monomer, cross-linking monomer and functional monomer on the tensile strength, hardness and water absorption of adhesive film was studied and characterized by hardness tester, universal testing machine, DSC, TG and so on. The results showed that:mass ratio of monomerⅠ(MMA:VAc) and monomerⅡ(BA:VAc) were 20:10,50:20,mass ratio of the cross-linking monomer ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA) and divinyl benzene(DVB) was 2:1, amount of acrylic acid(AA) was 3.0% the total mass of monomer. the adhesive film was continuous、transparent, and had a certain degree of hydrophilicity, the pencil hardness and tensile strength were 2H,6.39MPa.Water-based adhesive was applied to bonding the floor and rubber for table tennis bat. Effect of comonomer, cross-linking monomer and curing temperature on the 180°stripping time was researched and characterized by peel off intensity tester. The results showed:mass ratio of MMA and VAc, BA and VAc, EGDMA and DVB were 20:10, 50:20,2:1 respectively, and curing temperature was 50℃, the adhesive had longer 180°stripping time and excellent bonding strength。
