Objective: To analysis the changes of echocardiogram in patients with lupus nephritis(LN) and investigate the correlation between the changes of left ventricle and age, duration, blood-pressure, hemoglobin (Hb), serum creatinine (Scr), glomerular filtrationrate (GFR) and SLEDAI2000score and so on. Methods:132patients with systemic lupuserythematosus (SLE) were divided into nephritis group and non-nephritis group accordingto kidney damage, the clinic data such as age, duration, blood pressure, Hb, Scr, GFR,SLEDAI2000score and echocardiogram and so on were comparative analysis, correlationanalysis and multiple regression analysis. Results: Compared with non-LN patients, thelevels of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), Scr, blood ureanitrogen (BUN), blood uric acid (BUA), triglyceride (TG) and SLEDAI2000score werehigher in LN patients, but the levels of Hb, albumin (Alb), GFR and C3were lower. Theincidence of concentric hypertrophy was significantly increased. Left ventricular endsystolic internal dimension (LVESd) was correlated positively with BUA. Left ventricularmass index (LVMI) was correlated positively with BUN. Interventricular septal thickness(IVST) was correlated positively with SBP. Conclusions: Compared with non-LN patients,The incidence of concentric hypertrophy was significantly increased in LN patients, Itwould be one of the mechanism that SLE could involve kidney, consequently lead tohypertension, higher BUN and BUA, etc, which may further aggravate heartdamage, precautionary measures recommend to emphasize with lupus nephritis therapy, combine with symptomatic treatment.
