Abstract


Work centrality can reflect the importance of work in individual’s life.The study developed a Work Centrality Questionnaire among chinese workers.The questionnaire has three dimensions,and they all meet statistical index.The one dimension is named realizing self-value via work,this means how work can meet your achievement need;The other one named the importance of work,this dimension include absolute importance and relative importance. Absolute importance can reflect a belief toward work as one of life areas;Relative importance can reflect the importance of work as compared with other areas of life;The last dimension is named identify with work behaviour,this reflect a positive or negative attitude with the human general behaviour.The difference of demography variables on work centrality has found that men have higher work centrality then women,and managers have higher work centrality then general workers,and with higher manager lever,the higher work centrality who has.But age and education have no difference on work centrality.We also found that work centrality has significantly related to work-family conflict.This means the higher work centrality you have,the more work to family conflict you will suffer.
