Abstract


Summit diplomacy is probably one of the oldest diplomacy forms. Although it was declined in the modern time, but it was happened again after the World War Ⅱ, and it is playing an important role in the international relations stage. In the Eisenhower’s tenure, the leaders of the United States and other countries became to strengthen interaction, other countries’ leaders visited the United States, Eisenhower also went to visit other countries, moreover he sent envoys to complete his some tasks, and their activities play a very important role in the promotion of national and international communication and relationship. This article about the summit diplomacy of Eisenhower’s period wants to find the important role of the United States’ summit diplomacy. Introduction of the paper’s topic meaning analysis the summit diplomacy of the current situation, I hope that I can get more deeper understanding of the summit diplomacy. Introduction of the paper’s topic meaning also elaborates the concept of the summit diplomacy, and the summit diplomacy has broad sense and narrow sense, our research is in the broad sense of the summit diplomacy. The types of the summit diplomacy also has a lot of kinds, there is a list of five types and their function. It which is from the first chapter to the fifth chapter is about the Korean War’s armistice agreement and the Suez Crisis Event, which reflects the situation of Eisenhower’s summit diplomacy. It also presents the situation that the leaders visited the United States and Eisenhower visited other countries, it contacts the content of the diplomatic envoys,finally it presents the situation that the leaders wrote to Eisenhower and Eisenhower wrote to them. The paper is a adoption of Eisenhower’s summit diplomacy which made important contribution to the U.S.A.’s diplomacy.
