Body image is multidimensional self-attitude of individual to its body, particularly to size, shape and aesthetic feeling of body, including cognitive, evaluating and behavior intent. Body image is related to people’s mental health closely. Negative body image may produce a series of psychological or behavioral problems, such as low self-esteem,depression, anxiety, compulsive behavior, eating disorders, etc.This research try to combine modern cognitive behavioral orientation theory knowledge, and explore an effective way to help students change their negative self perception. After three months of body image intervention,using the multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ),which is compiled by professor Thomas F.C,revised by Ma Rumeng,and the interview outline of the intervention to evaluate the effect. The results are following:(1)The overall satisfaction of high school students is in medium level, and girl’s body satisfaction is lower than boy’s. In appearance evaluation, physical health assessment, physical health concerns, body parts satisfaction these four dimensions, the average score of girls is significantly lower than boys’. In overweight concern dimension, girls’ average score is significantly higher than boys’.(2)Each dimension of body image about high school students in grade, age, family background are no obvious difference.(3)Gender, BMI, exercise frequency, family economic situation will produce certain effect on the body image dimensions about high school students.(4)Some of the body image dimensions are relatively stable, such as disease concern and worries, overweight preoccupation, and self classified weight.Some dimensions are more unstable, they may change by individual’life experience easily, such as body areas satisfaction.(5)The cognitive intervention measures in this study are helpful to build a positive body image.
