Abstract


The purpose of higher education is to cultivate qualified architectand reliable heirs of socialism with ideals, morality, literacy anddiscipline. The saying “education is fundamental and moral education isinitial” not only fully represents the importance of moral education ofeducating talented people but also enhances and improves the ideologicaland political education of college students. It is related to both thehealthy growth of college students and the future and destiny of ourcountry. It guarantees the prosperity of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics and heirs.With open policy and further development of socialist market economy,facing with the economic globalization, the information network and avariety of real value, contemporary college students are thinkingactively,with independent personality and diversified moral orientation.And traditional ideological and political educational system and methodsare under severe challenge. So theideological and political education ofcollege students requires an up-to-date, attractive and vivideducational concept, method and approach to ensure it enhanced andfulfilled. It is of great significance to create a new ideological andpolitical educational system and to educate adaptable and comprehensivelydeveloped21-century excellent talents with sufficient personality.Aesthetic Education is a unique educational method, which meets thenew requirements of ideological and political education of collegestudents. It utilizes aesthetic education’s characters such as emotion,image and entertainment, which open a door for ideological and politicaleducation.This topic gets down to business and dig deep into the meaning ofuniversity aesthetic education. Through systematical researches aboutthe function of aesthetic education in ideological and politicaleducationand the current situation of aesthetic education, this topicproposed aesthetic education operational thinking based on enhancing thepertinence and efficiency of ideological and political education.The first part analyses the connotation of the concept of aestheticeducation and ideological and political education,clarify the close tiesbetween them and pave way for research for what role does aestheticeducation play in ideological and political education of college students. The second part detailedly discussed about the enriched and perfectedfunctions aesthetic education plays in ideological and politicaleducation, which are functions that broaden and innovate approaches,convert viewpoints of world, life and value, enhance attractiveness,etc. These functions highlight the topic. The third part analyses theprofits and problems resulted from aesthetic education of collegestudents and finds out the reasons to support further solutions. Thefourth part proposes ways, which are establishing the great aestheticeducation concept,deepening the aesthetic education content,improvingthe educators’ aesthetic quality and conducting a beautiful schoolculture, to utilize aesthetic education to reinforce ideological andpolitical education of college students and to improve the efficiency ofideological and political education.
