Abstract


Professor Li Jianlin is an excellent accordion instrumentalist, composer, educator, and as well as a promoter who is working hard for the development of the accordion undertaking in China. He has created a lot of music masterpieces including folk tonalities and traditional operas. His works are vibrant, creative and clever, with a strong ethnic color, also contain a strong national spirit.Accordion solo "Long Drum Dance" is one of Professor Li’s masterpiece which has obtained highly praise from both accordion lovers and instrumentalists. This production is based on studying and analysing numbers of Korean folk music and Western composition method. Professor Li finally finished it by using the accordion playing characters combined with his own creative style.This article will analyse, discuss and classificate the masterpieces of Professor Li by analysing "Long Drum Dance" in different aspects.To start with, according to the music creation method, his works will be separated into three categories: creation based on the Chinese folk music; creation based on the traditional Chinese operas and transcriptions based on the famous songs.Then according to the creation subject of the works, they will be took into three sorts: the human being; the relationship between human and nature; the scenes of folk customs.Finally, deeply analyse the "Long Drum Dance" in following aspects: characteristics of folk music, creative techniques, performance psychology and so on. Rely on this research, I hope to offer some limited personal idea to the accordion lovers. Meanwhile I would like to make efforts for the development and the boosting of playing accordion in China.
