In 2007,“11th five-year”plan of Liaoning province national physique healthy development strategy study pointed out that 19~22 university students’body form shows ascendant trend, while body function and physical qualities are decreasing in last twenty years. Universities, as special positions where cultivating national high quality talents, not only need supply the high-quality talents, but also ensure that talents have adequate energy for the construction of the country. The colorful cultural activities in sports associations can liberate the students from the boring network life, and help them attend physical exercises, cultivate their lifetime sports consciousness. Therefore, the research of university sports association development status in Shenyang has important realistic significance.By using literature data method, questionnaire survey, logical analysis and mathematical statistic method, taking eight universities’sports associations as the research object, this paper gives a comprehensive study in development situation, existing problems, influence factors and management strategy of these sports associations.The results of the study indicate that sports association plays an immeasurable role in enrichment of campus cultural life and cultivation of students’life-long physical education consciousness. Although, all the universities in Shenyang have sports associations, and the proportion of the sports association is high, the implementation of national related policy, funds, facilities and propaganda of these sports associations obviously need to be improved. Many sports associations have established the basic organization structure, and have complete rules and regulations, but lacks of effective supervision system. The gender ratio in participation structure is reasonable, but grade distribution is imbalanced, and flow of association members and management personnel are frequent. Fundraising channel of these sports associations is single. The use of these funds is unplanned and lack of sufficient transparency. The activity of the sports associations is single although they have abundant projects and enough activity fields. Universities have established evaluation system for sports associations, but uniform standard of this system can not measure practical effect according to different types. The enthusiasm of association members is not high, and it has not mutual supervision system between members and association leaders.According to the current situation analysis, problems dissection and influence factors exploration, this paper gives some suggestions for the development of university sports associations in Shenyang. First, sports associations should establish clear goals and objectives. Second, sports associations should establish complete organization structure. Third, sports associations should construct scientific management mechanism, including capital planning mechanism, management personnel training and incentive mechanism, supervision mechanism and strategy etc. Last, sports associations should choose specific management strategies, such as strengthening sports community service consciousness, establishing the students oriented idea, strengthening sports associations management system construction, improving community organization management, broadening sources of funds, solidifying activities basis, creating excellent sports clubs, ascending associations visibility and competitiveness, paying special attention to the hiring and training cadres link, improving sports societies scientific management level, developing activity space by using of network environment and so on.
