Abstract


During the operation of mobile cellular communication networks, it is the planning optimizationtechnology that ensures the quality of networks. Network planning andnetwork optimization are interdependency.Network optimization is the expending of network planning, and it is an effective way to enhance the quality of network in general.It is optimization planning that an effective way to optimize the network when the network has been built. At the same time, network should be optimized constantly during the increasing of businesses.In this paper, targeting at the personal-oriented mobile cellular communication network, the history on network optimization is presented first, as well as related technology about network planning and optimization. And then we discuss the challenges and trends in planning optimization, especially in 3G and next generation communication networks. Some classic solutions are present at the same time. In the paper, the technology about self-optimization and self-configuration in Self-organizing networks (SONs) are discussed. Furthermore, an effective and efficient solution is proposed based on theoretic deduces and experiments, which has great value both in academic reach and industrial production.
