Abstract


During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, both China and other countries are at the stage of post-crisis adjustment period. International environment will enter a critical turning point; It will be the medium-term strategic orientation of most countries to ask globalization for more employment opportunities, while China has also entered a new period of development full of opportunities and challenges. With the global continued downturn demand conditions during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, it’s important to create more high-quality jobs, which will directly determine China’s long-term potential and relative position of future development. High-quality jobs require high-quality manpower, and therefore as a group of high-quality manpower, employment of college students once again become the focus of attention. In the case of decline in net exports, structural contradiction of employment, the "world factory" transformation, the employment situation of university students face enormous challenges. The fundamental solution to the issue is to improve students’ employability. It has become the key to solve the problem of employment of college graduates, but it is also an important issue to be solved by the government, colleges and the society.This thesis focuses on the study of employability of college students. At first it introduces the related theories and analyze the employability status and problems, mainly from "soft power" and "hard power" two aspects; and then detailed analysis of causes is made, mainly from social factors, factors of higher education, students themselves and employers; following are countermeasures to improve the employability of students, mainly from government, universities, students themselves three areas, it suggests to develop the tripartite interaction mechanism of employability among the government, universities and employers; Finally, it is concluded that:not only students themselves but the society, universities and employers have to be concerned about the employability of students; it needs efforts from all sides to promote the continued development of college students’employability, which will fundamentally improve the employment of university students and make a comprehensive development of a harmonious society, the successful implementation of the "12th Five-Year Plan" and continuous enhancement of the comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness.
