Abstract


Voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML) is a kind of internet markup language based on XML. It is proposed to help people develop voice user system. Users could use this system to get information service from Internet by phone without keypad or mouse.In order to overcome shortcomings such as single means of access to message, the small amount of information in traditional IVR (Interactive Voice Response), this paper is designed and implemented VoiceXML-based Voice Portal. And the Voice Portal is used as an alternative to conventional IVR as a call center entrance. In this paper, we first analyes function and features as well as give the overall structural design of the Voice Portal. The whole system was divided into user, voice browser, background service. Then, we use the requirement for project in an expressway call center as the basement, introduce famous open project OpenH323. Base on it we developed our Voice Portal supporting H.323 interface. In the paper, we introduce the developing method in detail. The system not only provided the traditional functions of the IVR, but also reached the target that user use telephone to visit Internet as expected.
