Abstract


In twenty-first Century, the tourism industry has become the world’s economicpillar industry, which is also the leading force of developing region economic andsocial progress. As a new economic area, tourism industry causes much attentation bythe local government. Henan province is located in the heart of China with rich travelnatural and human resources. In recent years, the tourism industry of Henan isdeveloping in a high rapid, while the gap of development is becoming wider and wider.According to the actual situation of Henan’s tourism industry, this paper holds the viewthat the balanced development of tourism industry is not suitable for Henan province.We should adopt the growth pole mode dominates to the tourism industry’sdevelopment. The purport of growth pole theory is to pick up speed of fulldevelopment through the competitive industries. This paper will offer some supply togrowth pole theory by studying potential evaluation and comprehensive accreditationof tourism industry in Henan province.Based on the theory of growth pole, combined with the domestic and foreignexperts and scholars to tourism growth pole in the research literature, this paper putsforward the basic concept of growth pole by analysis principal components to carryout the empirical comparative. In accordance with the actual situation of theconstruction of Henan Tourism industry, the growth pole theory will give a generalidea: using the method of analysising principal components, aiming at18cities ofHenan province and related data of Henan statistical yearbook and the Yearbook ofChina tourism in2010,sciencly choosing21indexes to design the development oftourism industry and make the sultimately determine of Henan province tourismindustry. In the last, according to the results of quantitative analysis, the paper willgive some advice on the growth poles of tourism industry in Henan province.
