Abstract

The experiments of extracting camellia seed oil from camellia seed withsupercritical carbon dioxide technology were carried out. The physic-chemicalrule of the process and main compositions of camellia seed oil weresystematically investigated. The camellia seed shells were dislodged. Andcamellia seed were dried, crushed and sieved. Then powder of camellia seed wasstored for using. Some certain volume powder was weighted and put into theextraction vessel of1liter to extract camellia seed oil with supercritical carbondioxide. Four factors (extracting pressure, extracting temperature, extracting timeand separating temperature) were chosen as influencing ones and the multifactor&multilevel Visual Design method (m2VD) proposed by our research group wasapplied to arrange the experiments. The experiment target was the extraction ratein the process research of supercritical carbon dioxide technology. This paperused our multifactor and multilevel Visual Analysis method (m2VA) to analyzethe relations between experimental factors and test index. Finally the bestextracting process parameters were found: extracting pressure is25~30MPa,extracting temperature30~35℃, extracting time110~140min, separatingpressure4~5MPa.The extraction of camellia seed oil was methyl esterified. Variouscomponents and contents in camellia seed oil were determined by GasChromatography-Mass Spectrometry. The results indicated that the majorMUFA(monounsaturated fatty acid) was oleic acid and the major PUFA(polyunsaturated fatty acid) was linoleic acid. The major SFA (Saturated fattyacid) were palmitic acid and stearic acid. The paper analyzed that four factors(extracting pressure, extracting temperature, extracting time and separatingtemperature) influence relations between oleic acid content, linoleic acid content, stearic acid content and palmitic acid content with multifactor and multilevel andmultitarget Visual Analysis method (m3VA). In order to obtain the high content ofunsaturated fatty acid and low content of saturated fatty acid, the better extractingprocess parameters were found: extracting pressure is lower than30MPa, extracting temperature less than50℃, extracting time100~150min andseparating pressure4~6MPa. This process range and the optimized range withhigh extraction rate agree well.A set of parameters was chosen from the predominant area that wereextracting pressure:27MPa, extracting temperature:32℃, extracting time:120min and separating pressure:4.5MPa. With those process parameters theextracting rate of verification experiment was reached51.9%greater than45.02%.Its fatty acid content was detected: the content of oleic acid is68.49%; thecontent of linoleic acid8.12%; the content of palmitic acid12.49%, stearic acidcontent4.45%. Multifactor and multilevel and multitarget Visual Analysismethod does work. It can provide process guidance for the industrial productionof camellia seed oil and has the important practice significance.
