Abstract

Objective: To derive the transfer carotid elasticity index (Carotid Elasticity Transmission index, CETI), and the index in patients with essential hypertension carotid artery - media thickness (IMT) for correlation analysis to explore the clinical value of CETI. Methods: 77 patients with essential hypertension the same age group with 24 cases of non-hypertensive healthy subjects. Applications include TCD detector intracranial middle cerebral artery (MCA), internal carotid artery (ICA) extracranial segment, basilar artery (BA) intracranial blood flow velocity, PI values were calculated; dual function color Doppler ultrasound Detection of carotid IMT and carotid artery blood flow velocity to calculate the value of PI; derived formula: CETI1 = PIMCA / PICCA, CETI2 = PIICA / PICCA, CETI3 = PIBA / PICCA; application curve fitting analysis CETI associated with IMT sex. Results: 1.IMT with CETI curve fitting: CETI1, CETI2, and CETI3 three showed a curvilinear relationship with IMT (quadratic curve), r2, respectively 0.695,0.671,0.612, P lt; 0.001. 2. Six groups CETI Value Size pairwise comparison analysis of variance: ①. CETI1 in: IMT lt; 0.7mm group and 0.7mm ≤ IMT lt; 0.8mm group CETI1 overall mean minimum, and the difference between them was not significant (P gt; 0.05), the rest either overall mean difference between the two groups was significant (P lt; 0.05). ②. CETI2 in: IMT lt; 0.7mm group and 0.7mm ≤ IMT lt; 0.8mm group and 0.8mm ≤ IMT lt; 0.9mm between the three groups overall mean difference was not statistically significant, P gt; 0.05; 0.9mm ≤ IMT lt; 1mm group and 1mm ≤ IMT lt; 1.1mm group two overall mean difference between groups was not significant, P gt; 0.05; I arbitrary pairwise comparisons among the three groups, the differences were statistically significant, P lt; 0.05. ③. CETI3 in: IMT lt; 0.7mm group, 0.7mm ≤ IMT lt; 0.8mm group, 0.8mm ≤ IMT lt; 0.9mm and 0.9mm ≤ IMT lt; 1mm group of four overall mean difference between groups was not significant, P gt; 0.05,1 mm ≤ IMT lt; 1.1mm group and IMT ≥ 1.1mm group overall mean difference between the two groups was not significant, P gt; 0.05, I pairwise comparisons between any two groups, the differences were statistically significant, P lt; 0.05. 3. multiple linear regression analysis: IMT and body mass index in patients with hypertension, LDL, daily smoking, systolic blood pressure (SBP), age linear regression, P lt; 0.05; SBP for IMT, which the greatest impact. Conclusion: CETI is expected as a reflection of changes in hypertensive patients with intracranial arterial elasticity of observations: ①, when IMT ≥ 0.8mm when, MCA will accelerate the curing speed, even more than extracranial arteries hardening rate of development; ②, when IMT ≥ 0.9 mm,, ICA intracranial segment of curing speed, and will exceed the growth rate of extracranial arteries hardening; ③, CETI1 intracranial atherosclerosis than IMT reflect more sensitive or resilient to change, can be recommended for clinical use.
