Abstract


The combined graphics - background theory, using the method of qualitative analysis, from the perspective of cognitive linguistics irony. The paper is divided into five parts, following a brief introduction of each section. Chapter Introduction, introduces the purpose and significance of this study, research questions, research methods and data collection, and discourse structure. The second chapter is the literature review section, the first to introduce and discuss the irony of origin, definition, classification and function. Then, with five areas outlined mainly from the rhetoric, psychology, semantics, pragmatics and cognitive language reviews previous studies of the linguistic phenomenon, and pointed out that their study problems and inadequacies with graphics - The background theory to explain the necessity of irony. In the third chapter, the authors propose a theoretical framework of this article - based graphics - background theoretical framework of cognitive linguistics.
