Abstract

Sealed lead-acid battery has some excellent characteristics: splendid reversibility, voltage stabilization, long operation life, abundant raw materials(renewable) and low cost etc.. It is the standby power supply equipment which is widely used in modern communication and power system, which plays an irreplaceable role to ensure uninterrupted power supply in communication system and electric power system. According to the people’s Republic of China electric power industry standard technical regulations about storage battery DC power supply equipment operation and maintenance terms and China mobile communication storage battery maintenance management regulations:sealed valve-regulated battery must have been made a complete capacity test or deep discharge test at least once a year. At the present time, the check discharge test can only found the most behind piece of the batterys and could not detect every piece of the using capacity. This paper takes a global view of the battery capacity testing system which is constructed with the ADUC845microcontroller. It can accurate measure the battery discharge capacity via constant-current discharge. It has the ability to build the model between load voltage and time curve through the high order nonlinear regression equation. It will be able to estimate every piece of the battery capacity by means of extrapolation storage battery actual capacity on the condition that the result have a certain precision. The whole system improve the efficiency of storage battery capacity detection and have a comprehensive application in the future.
