Abstract
|
In recent years, the study of thin-films solar cell has attracted much interest, because their easy of fabrication, procession temperatures and low cost has obtained great achievements. In order to improve the energy conversion efficiency of solar cells. Light trapping is particularly critical in tin films solar cells in order to increase light absorption and enhance cell efficiency. The embedded silica nanoparticles in thin-film silicon solar cells have some advantages over the metal nanoparticles in enhancing optical absorption of silicon such as no loss, better compatibility with antireflection coating, extremely low dangling bond densities and interface recombination velocities. To our best knowledge, we first systematically studied optical absorption enhancement when silica nanoparticles have different radius, array period and depth in the silica substrate with FDTD method, and the optimum of the nanoparticle parameters are obtained. Then we discussed the physical mechanism of the optical absorption enhancement in detail and attributed the enhancement to the superposition of the particle scattering effect and Fabry-Perot resonance effect.
