Objective:To observe the influences on the TCM syndrome,high androgen symptoms and sex hormone of treating the adolescent polycystic ovarian syndrome patients with liver meridian fermented type by acupuncture combined with metformin,to evaluate the the clinical curative effect and security,and explore its action mechanism.Methods:60cases of adolescence PCOS patients with liver meridian fermented type were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with30cases in each group.The treatment group were treated with acupuncture combine with metformin,the control group were only given metformin,two groups were treated for three months.Before the treatment and three months after treatment,gather fasting blood in her menstrual the first three days,determination of serum testosterone (T),luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),fasting insulin(FINS) and fasting blood-glucose(FPG),observe the change of the TCM syndrome,high androgen symptoms and ultrasound.Results:Compared with pre-therapy, there was statistically significant difference on the integral of abnormal menstruation,acne,the TCM syndrome, ovarian volume and number of follicles(P<0.01),while there was no significant difference on the hirsutism(P>0.05).After the treatment, the integral of ance,the TCM syndrome had significant difference (P<0.05), while abnormal menstruation,ovarian volume and number of follicles had no(P>0.05).Through comparing the curative effect on the TCM syndrome,the total effective rate of treatment group was83.33%and that of control group was63.33%,there was significant difference between the groups (P<0.05).The levels of serum T of the two groups compared with pre-therapy, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.01),while there was significant difference between the groups after the treatment(P<0.05).The posttreatment levels of serum LH,LH/FSH in acupuncture combined with medicine group and simple medicine group were all obviously lower than those of pre-therapy(P<0.01),there was statistically significant difference,the same when two groups compared with each other after the treatment. The levels of serum FSH and FPG of the two groups compared with pre-therapy, there was no significant difference(P>0.05).FINS of the treatment group had significant difference(P<0.05)compared with pre-therapy, while control groups’ and the HOMA-IR of the two groups had statistically significant difference(P<0.01).To compare with each other after the treatment,there was no significant difference on the FINS and HOMA-IR (P>0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with metformin was a safe and effective therapeutic method for the adolescence polycystic ovarian syndrome Patients with liver meridian fermented type,it could decrease the levels of serum T,LH,LH/FSH,FINS and HOMA-IR to regulate the menstruation, relieve the high androgen symptoms,reduce the ovarian volume and number of follicles,the therapeutic effect was better than the effect of using simple metformin.
