Evaluation system of the academic achievements of professional teachers is afundamental system of academic administration activity in art academies. By analysing itsmain content and characteristics, it can help to fully understand its current problems andshortcomings, and the necessity and urgency of rectification of the evaluation of system; Byanalysing, it can help to standardize the procedure of evaluation, so as to improve the quantityand quality of the academic achievements of professional teachers in art academies; Byanalysing, it can help to find out a more efficient evaluation system, so as to encourage the artacademies and their professional teachers to focus more on the inheritance and developmentof human civilization.In February,2011, China, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Councilannounced that science of art was no longer classified in the literature, but to become the new13th discipline. Therefore, the old evaluation system of the academic achievements is notsuitable for the need of the development of the science of art, while the new academicframework and evaluation criteria are urgently needed.Based on Sichuan Art Vocational College, this paper first systematically analyses thegreat importance, necessity and urgency of rectification of the evaluation system of theacademic achievements of professional teachers in art academies. Secondly, by introducing itscurrent situation and the developing trend, this paper analyses the main problems that exist inChinese present evaluation system, and then discusess the deep reasons for these problems.Finally, to solve these problems, based on the main experience of other disciplines, othernational professional teachers’ academic evaluation methods, the author provides with relevant suggestions, such as the reform of the value orientation, the reform of evaluationmethodology, and so on.
