The report is written on the basis of a critical analysis and solemn meditation of the translation of the two chapters from A History of American Business. The book is typical of economic argumentation, both professional and academic in style and lexicology. The economic terms, in full spelling or acronyms, are abundant, which is further complicated by the names of personages and events of great historic significance. With few Chinese materials available, the task poses great difficulty in translate the original into Chinese. However, the information is basically rendered faithfully and properly into Chinese. The report is composed of four parts, namely, task description, characteristics of the original contents, translation perception and the remaining problems. It summarizes the translation process, some economic terms and economic stories, and expands the knowledge reserves of cross-disciplinary translation. Translation theory is well blended with practice through the translation and report writing. And the ability of economic translation is improved.
