Abstract

The purpose of this study is to deepen people’s understanding of the land reform in the Central Soviet Area. My research focus on the implementation process of agrarian revolution and many various variables it encountered in the local community, observes the effect of the implementation of land policies from the views of the bottom people in this period. This paper puts the analysis of economic and class differentiation status of rural society before the land reform as the beginning, and elaborates some questions followed:how CPC launched the riots of land; how land reform happened; the adjusting process of land policies; the reaction of the rural society of CPC’s land policies and the resulting effect of political mobilization and the economic social construction.A number of peasant uprisings happened in the scope of the Central Soviet Area, but the agrarian revolution is not widespread occurred in1927-1929. In early1930. the first land distribution realized in southwest of Jiangxi Province. In order to solve problem of uneven fertility of soil and the practical difficulties of the poor peasants and farm laborers, the anti-kulak struggle had been carried out in Central Soviet Area in June. The campaign attacked the interests of the cultivators and traders and solved the spring famine at the time in the Soviet Area and problems about production. But owing to the shirking of industry and commerce and the unemployment of craftsmen, odd jobs to support their peasants’families and their weavings were greatly reduced. The repeated land redirection and the bad impact of rich peasants resulted in that peasants felt they had no rights to own the land. Therefore they questioned the agrarian revolution. The Soviet Area in difficulties selected the policy of peasants owing lands in the spring of1931. However, the class line in the agrarian revolution had been carried out in Soviet Area soon. The Examining Land Moment which was the main measure in the implementation of the "Wang Ming line" land policy, was strongly carried out with eliminating counterrevolutionary, recruiting Red Army, raising funds and selling economic government bonds. And it result in the serious consequences such as the mass escaping and conflicts between Soviet Area and the other place.Review the course of agrarian revolution in the Central Soviet, the "moderate" agrarian revolution is more effective in the fight for the poor peasants, farm laborers and middle peasants, because they cater to the egalitarian ideology of farmers, to protect the rich peasants, small businessmen, to protect the order of the market economy, CPC have got the support of Most of all walks of life in rural areas. But once CPC start to launch Class Struggle of Anti-kulak, would produce danger of expand the striking surface, not only hurt the landlords and rich peasants, the part of some businessmen, but also damage to the interests of the part of the middle peasants, poor peasants. The struggle against rich peasants and "Chatian" Movement had been implemented relying on brute force, but Chinese rural area is a clan society,"benevolence and other traditional moral values are Deep-rooted. The ideology of class struggle and.other Traditional Chinese Moral have serious conflict. Numerous factors contribute to Communist Party departure from the interests of farmers at a later stage of Agrarian Revolutionary in the Central Soviet Area to some extent.
