Abstract


Diplomacy, as an important way to safeguard national sovereignty and interests, ispart of the power of sovereign states. Diplomatic influence is a concrete reflection ofa country’s diplomatic power, referred to the capability of a sovereign state to employpeaceful approaches such as carrying out diplomatic activities, exercising diplomaticpowers in specific situations and mobilizing diplomatic resources in order to changethe policies, behaviors, etc. of the targeted state, so as to produce positive effects toitself and safeguard its own interests.China is a responsible major country with growing comprehensive national strengthand rising international status. Although progress has been made in developing itsdiplomatic influence, China’s diplomatic resources and approaches are far from beingpowerful and diversified. Therefore, more attention should be paid to it and moreexperience should be summed up through diplomatic practices. There’s much spacefor the development of China’s diplomatic influence. Further development of China’sdiplomatic influence is a necessary requirement for China’s peaceful development,and it will exert a profound influence on safeguarding China’s national interests aswell as promoting world peace and development.
