Abstract


As two pillars for Chinese culture, the art of traditional patterns and Chinese characters have been inherited to this day. Baoxianghua flower pattern owns a special place in the traditional patterns, but inhabited with only one form in modern art. The combination of Baoxianghua and Chinese character, processed by modern art, not only bring more culture to the forms of Chinese characters, but also enrich the design of Baoxianghua with more patterns. This article is meant to give a brief picture of the modern design of Baoxianghua in modern Chinese characters through the analysis of both Baoxianghua and Chinese characters and personal creation of some patterns.
