Abstract


Under the circumstance of economic globalization, intellectual property rights especially patent become the important factors to win in the increasingly intense market competition between enterprises over the world .Awareness of the important role of IP ,foreign enterprises has regarded patent strategy as the core of enterprise strategy, while Chinese enterprises, less awareness of patent strategy ,are always attacked by foreign enterprises as the results that they are obliged to pay huge damages or withdraw from the competition. In this article, I apply the theory of enterprise strategy management and patent laws to studying enterprise patent strategy analytically and substantially. Firstly, I analyze the concept and characteristics of economic globalization and enterprise patent strategy, setting forth the position that enterprise patent strategy is in the enterprise global strategy; secondly, I analyze the successful patent strategy of American and Japanese enterprises and the present situation of Chinese enterprises in implementing patent strategy, and find out the differences between them; thirdly, I put forward the principles, methods and steps that Chinese enterprises make and implement patent strategy; and the last, to support my view, I analyze. Haier’s successful patent strategy in its global market strategy as an example.
