Abstract


Now, we are in the21st century, an age of knowledge-based economy and an era of information technology. The traditional knowledge-based talents cannot afford the development any more. Moreover, The comprehensive national strength competition relies more and more on the number and quality of talents, especial talents with creativity. In order to face this trend and meet the demand of development, how to educate creative student become the focus of attention for universities. This research chooses the creative education in Taiwan universities as the research object, using the method of interview, observation, document analysis, and case study, trying to provide some references to the relevant work in Mainland China.The study includes five chapters, which are "introduction","literature review, the history, current situation and pushing factors of creative education in Taiwan"," case studies " and "the features and inspiration of creative education in Taiwan ".Chapterl introduces the object, the background, significance, design, and methods of the study.Chapter2shows the literature review and the analysis framework.Chapter3begins with the motivation and history of creative education in Taiwan, shows the current situation and pushing projects of creative education in universities and discusses the advantages and features of creative education in Taiwan.Chapter4is about the case studies of creative education in four universities in Taiwan, National Chengchi University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University and National Cheng Kung University. This chapter gives the detailed information about four universities and analyzes from pushing mechanism, modes of implement, classes, teachers, students and environment with the direction of the holistic education theory.Chapter5concludes the common practice and features of the four universities and proposes some suggestions to our related practices according to the current status.
