Abstract


Engineering consciousness refers to the understanding of engineering andengineering community to the essence of engineering characteristics andengineering, social function and general existence attitude, ideas, thoughts andmental process of project activities and project. All engineering innovationactivities are started from consciousness, strong consciousness of engineering is theengineering students the necessary engineering quality of students’ learning, itplays a guiding, encouragement and regulation. Higher engineering education asthe main channel of cultivating future engineers, has made great contribution to thedevelopment of national thriving and prosperous and engineering career. However,higher engineering education for twenty-first Century is facing severe challenges,the training of engineering and technical personnel can not meet the needs of socialdevelopment, one of the important reasons is that the students lack of awarenessand ability of practice and innovation. Engineering philosophy is a new subject todevelop jointly by Chinese scholars and Western scholars, it on the reform ofengineering education and engineering students’ consciousness also has animportant guiding significance and application value.This paper attempts to start from the perspective of philosophy of engineering,investigation and analysis of engineering consciousness of students, and putforward the corresponding countermeasures. The full text is divided into fourchapters, except the first chapter briefly introduces the purpose and significance ofthe study and the research status at home and abroad, the remaining three chaptersare: chapter second, summarizes and analyzes the rise and development of thecharacteristics of engineering, engineering philosophy and its guidance on thereform of Engineering Education, the connotation of consciousness, engineering.Factors and social function; the third chapter is the focus of this paper, on theanalysis of strengthening the basic necessity of cultivating engineering students’awareness of, by questionnaire survey as the basis, discussed8kinds ofengineering students should possess the knowledge--innovation consciousness, cooperation consciousness, quality consciousness, practice consciousness,responsibility (including environmental protection) consciousness, safety (risk)consciousness, integrated consciousness, the awareness of the people; the fourthchapter, combined with a questionnaire survey, from the entrance education,professional education, practical education, cooperation between school andenterprise culture, campus culture of extracurricular activities in science andtechnology, discussed the ways and measures of cultivating engineeringconsciousness of College student.
